Does anyone know of a place that sells hard cases for pipes that you could for instance put in a suitcase? If you have pics of one you might have that is always appreciated. I have a hard case that holds about 15 cigars I might be able to convert to a pipe case if I can find a place to get new foam.

Anywhere that sells Pelican cases. They're awesome. I've used them for everything from laptops to cameras so pipes to scuba equipment. And the foam in them is completely customizable. It takes a little extra time, but you can cut it exactly how you want it. They also come in lots of sizes from "hold an iPod" to "hide 4 dismembered bodies" so depending on how many pipes you're taking, they've got the case for you.

Or, if you're a rock star pipe carver, you show up at pipe shows with a silver metal case looking like an 80s drug dealer. You unlock the case and people come RUNNING to see your hand-made goods.
Is that how it's done, Wayne?

I'm surprised that someone doesn't make one specifically for pipes. I see a lot of soft pouches but not any hard cases that will hold 2 or 3 pipes.

I made one. Check out the thread i started about my kinds and i made this, or something like that. i used an old cigar box, painted it up, glued some silk cloth i had to some foam rubber that was cut to size and glued the foam int the top and bottom of the cigar box. It holds 6-8 pipes.

I saw that one and have a cigar box. I thought about making one out of it but it won't fit my churchwarden. :(

Gun cases are not as expensive as Pelican, you don"t need IMHO waterproof, tank driving over it, just a good hard case, look at the sports stores,Academy, Dickes, Bass Pro,Cabelas, that's where I"d look. The old Cajun

Yeah I just meant I wanted something harder so all my stuff in my suit case doesn't break it. A little hand gun case probably would do the trick.

Flying with one of those might not be good. Might as well put a sticker on it that says "TSA, OPEN AND BREAK".

There are several sizes of waterproof boxes at the local walmart in the sporting goods section that look like they could be adapted to house a pipe or two with a little foam added to them.. I have three pelican cases and wait, have several 10 and 15 count xikar cigar travel cases that would probably work just as well.. might have to sacrifice one to see how well it would work.. just an idea..

I might pick up a pistol one because I've never actually flown before. If I do fly at some point I will leave the case at home lol.
