Oh hi everybody. I've lurked on this forum for a few years now, but figure I'll start participating! I live in the DC Area, and in addition to pipe smoking, I'm very into music: metal (doom, death, black metal, etc.), folk, country, goth, darkwave, etc. I also play guitar and sing. One of my musical projects is turning doom metal songs into acoustic songs with my 6 and 12 string baritone guitars. I started smoking a pipe at age 15 haha. I gave it up for a while because my ex wife didn't like it. I picked back up in earnest about five years ago when we split up and haven't looked back since. I'm very partial to many types of blends! Lately, I've really been into burley blends, Lakeland blends, and Balkans. I do like Virginias and things with dark fired too. With Virginias, the mood has to be right, and my allergies gone so my taste and smell are working well.
I fought with diminished smell and taste for a while, and I discovered it was because of B vitamin deficiencies related to a chronic health issue of mine. So maybe try some b vitamins if you can't taste or smell much. It did wonders for me.
Any metalheads out there? Pipe smoking and metal both feed into my obsessive desire to delve deeply into things a bit of the beaten path haha.
