Pipes and cigars as Embers said. I just want to clarify that I've had some particularly bad dealings with them, but my experience is not universal. I didn't mean to turn this into P&C hate.

Has anyone mixed ODF and Bold Kentucky? I may have to try that.

yeah I've ordered from them once and it was all fine. But after hearing the stories. See the thing is any business something is going to go wrong that's just how things work, that doesn't matter it's how they make it right and how much they respect you as a customer that matters (and I am a person that hates that phrase the customer is always right I understand that you have to accept limitations) and they just don't seem to care enough to make things right or communicate with the customers. And when their competition is great about such things. If I bought a pipe that was defective from them and waited till after their return policy to tell them I doubt they'd have helped for example or even made it so easy to fix if under their policy. So the few things I can't get else where aren't appealing enough for me to go for.

cracked the tin and man it smells nice. Often times when I smell a tin I can tell how much I'll dig the smoke. And this smells to me like a five Brothers but gourmet.

that's what it smells like. Kind of reminds me of Pu-erh tea from what I can tell from the tin note. A taste like dirt but really tasty delicious dirt.

I play around with blends on the first smoke see how temperamental they are. And this one for me at least wasn't even a slight bit temperamental it tasted about the same smoked slow or fast.

A pound of the flake is a thing of beauty. Smells like a BBQ truck, hard to not pick up a strip and take a bite.

Old KY was one of the blends I never got to. Earlier I bought anything that was strong, but as time went on half of my cellar was filled with strong blends and I felt that I had enough of them. They were 2/3s of my daily fare, and I was haunted by the realization that liking them so much, I had pushed aside many other blends that weren't strong. Escudo was really the only blend that carried forward.

From the moment I opened the first tin the circular, overlapping presentation fascinated me, and I never stopped smoking it.

I have a tin I am going to crack open. I feel pretty excited I can tell at worst it's going to be very good at best it's going to be a constant bulk buy.

Yeah, I like it a lot. Like an amped up, less vinegary-y Old Dark Fired. A tick below Dark Flake, 1792 and the Brown Twists, but still plenty strong. And unlike those blends, Bold Kentucky is easy as hell to find in stock at almost all the retailers.

Oh, don't be provincial. Plenty of people lead happy, full lives with their foodholes lined with soot.

I like the ODF and BK very much and I really like Rustica in particular.

BK is a go to blend in my house, although ODF finds itself smoked more often. Bold Kentucky is indeed pretty bold, I don’t find the flavor as rounded as ODF, it’s more rugged and punchy. I love DFK, and BK definitely puts all those BBQ, floral and woodsmoke flavors right out front but I guess I’ve just got to be in the mood for it?

Rustica tastes like IPA/grapefruit/poison to me. I just can’t get into it. Bought a tin, have had maybe three-five smokes and just can’t enjoy it. I like IPAs, I like grapefruit...there’s some kind of poisonous flavor though. Makes my head hurt.
