They live on in my cellar, as does McClelland and a whole bunch of great blends that are no longer in production. And, my cellar is really modest compared to some I know, and I'm not referring to amounts but to quality.
Likewise. I did some stocking of other greats like Mac Baren Old Dark Fired and Brebbia Balkan as well. Im sure they’ll get the boot eventually if not changed.
The first confirmed casualties of many, I am afraid.

I have several cans of White Knight and Black Horse. They're both "ok" blends. As to Bengal Slices.... years ago it was a wonderful, rich, English blend that I used to smoke often. After being away from it for a while I tried some a year or two ago and what a disappointment it was. Really bad. So, I'm not sorry to see it go. Nothing stays the same forever. 
The thing about all of this is that there are still guys who refuse to cellar their favorites, because they obstinately think that all of this is going to last forever... while we watch the bricks crumble before us.

I heard they reason they are scrapping the Sutliff’s machinery is that the last run of war horse ghosted it beyond repair.

I think it’d be too extensive to try at home to even get relatively close. Lots of different top flavors in that one. And then it’s a plug as well.
A plug - yes. But crumble cake is not beyond the realm of possibility. The toppings and casing are possible as well. There are always more than one way to skin a cat. I have had this conversation with many others. The current version of War Horse is itself a reflection of the original. Home blenders could actually add back ingredients that Russ chose not to use such as belladonna.
Disappointing as this news is, I guess I'm glad that I never got around to trying these.
Just spray essence of heliotrope over whatever crap you have lying around and you’ll never miss War Horse.
