I find this latest pipe interesting in that it's a good looking, well made pipe, lots of little things done well, and yet utterly unrecognizeable from a stylistic point of view because it is just that - a good looking pipe made with lots of little things done right, in a very Danish-school way, but not by a Dane, and without other calling-card type work, it's impossible to narrow down, there's nothing, even knowing it's German, that would let me identify the carver. Not denigrating the pipe at all, but it's just a really concrete example of a pipemaking "school" rather than an individual style.
