Greetings!
Figured it was time for me to cease lurking and come out into the light.
I’m not new to pipe smoking per se, have had pipes off and on since 1982, but since I’m about to enter “Codger” status, figured I’d get back to using them. Have rebuilt my arsenal of pipes since I threw out all prior ones, except my very first one the “Glacier” (loved it as it was the name of the 1st icebreaker I was assigned to), saw it around the basement a few months ago, just wish I could find it (under tons of leather and other stuff) and put it into rotation. Also, am just now learning to “sip” vs “freight train” my smokes, my what a difference it does make.
Anyway, have been reading all the great threads on this site and have even picked up a few new things and info as well. I’m an aromatic fellow and am attempting to blend my own to come up with the “perfect” one. I must have more than 50 pouches and fresh leaves down in my workshop that I’ve bought in the past couple of months. I’m sort of the like the cartoon dog that when someone shouts “SQUIRREL” I lose focus and shift to another item. My other main love (currently) is leather-working and have began making pipe and tobacco pouches, so always trying to stay busy.
Again, I really enjoy reading everyone’s point of view and chuckle at a few. Lots of great experience going on here. If anyone has any recipes that they’d like to share, I’m open. I’m located abut 25 miles south of this great nation’s confused capitol, and always looking to find like minded folks and shops between DC and Richmond, so any ideas would also be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
GW
