Thanks for the geographical correction. The high desert suggested O'Keefe, but I guess I got the wrong desert. It's an excuse to look at the map, which is always fun.

Hey, in Ruidoso. Check out Turkeyfoot Pipeworks. Billy is a great guy and makes his own pipes and blends his own tobacco. Also has a great selection of cigars! Tell him Reynolds sent you! Good luck and welcome!
I'll check him out next time I'm in that area. Thank you so much.

My name is Pat and I live in a small town in southern New Mexico. I just recently began my serious foray into pipe smoking. I had dabbled with pipe as a young lad before joining the Navy. That was when a youngster could walk into a store and purchase tobacco without a second glance. In the past month or so I've acquired, to my wife's chagrin, a decent rotation of pipes to feed what may now be considered an obsession. I'm looking forward to obtaining the insights and wisdom from everyone here that has been enjoying this hobby far longer than I.
Welcome from another Newbie

And what's your recommendation for che'buggies in your area?

And what is that? Please.
I've never heard that term. Not a native New Mexican, but have been here for years and am not familiar with che'buggies. I'll ask around and see what I can find out.

Here's the winner in Alamogordo, NM. Get it at Rockin' BZ Burgers. My brother and I get to New Mexico on a regular basis to do outdoor photography. This pic is from last October when we were in White Sands. We've assembled a list of places to hit for GCCB which is ungodly long. Knocked 17 off the list so far with 35 to go (36 now that I'm adding the A&B Drive In).

Best that I have found in Denver for just a straight up cheeseburger is Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. They have several locations in Colorado and I believe that they are also located in a few other states. I usually hold off on going green chile on the burger outside of New Mexico because the results are typically average at best (which happens often in New Mexico too, but other times are home runs).
