@OzPiper, I can understand this..Sydney drivers are some of the rudest and most impatient on earth.
A sister-in-law returned to "the big smoke" after a decade nursing in the outback, where she used to drive hundreds of kilometres weekly. She bought a car, took one drive in it and was so traumatised by her experience that she had a massive panic attack. A brother-in-law had to "rescue her" by driving the car back for her. She sold the car after just that one drive !
Thanks Mtlpiper, as they say.... 2 heads are better than oneG'day from Canada, the advantage of having two heads is you get to smoke two blends at once. Welcome aboard!
@Brendan, that's one of the joys of being in Tassie as the tourists tend to drive slow here taking in the sights, the locals tend to exceed the speed limit but do drive normally... at least in this area.Ohh yeah, Sydney drivers..
Moved out of there 10 years ago and I still get anxious thinking about it.
Even heading back to see Mum n Dad, as soon as I get past Lithgow it starts.. then onto the M4 and it’s kill or be killed..?Okay, that sounds extreme but not really..?
Makes the old fuddy Diddy Cowra drivers seem not so bad after all.
@mso489, to be honest I haven't even looked into getting pipe tobacco here in Tassie as the nearest tobacconist is about 2 hours away and doubt they would even stock much pipe tobacco, Most tobacconists that I came across in Canberra just sold Cigarettes, RYO Tobacco and gifts but their main sales were lottery tickets and scratchies.Welcome from central North Carolina U.S. You win immediate appointment to the Forums' exotic places caucus. What can you get in terms of pipe blends there?
@jpmcwjr , I came down here in 2011 and spent 3 weeks riding around the state via motorcycle and fell in love with the place and decided to move down, definitely a beautiful place with a lot of hidden treasures for tourists to discover..Ah, Tassie!! Gorgeous island. Great sailing. Oddly enough, there's a Royal Tennis court there- in Hobart! (US: Court Tennis; GB: Real Tennis).
I think I heard that. Played there in the 80's when the court at Sydney was inaugurated. (Or was it Melbourne??).@jpmcwjr , I came down here in 2011 and spent 3 weeks riding around the state via motorcycle and fell in love with the place and decided to move down, definitely a beautiful place with a lot of hidden treasures for tourists to discover..
I goggled the the royal tennnis court and recall searching for it previously... Turns out it's the oldest "Real" Tennis Court in the southern hemisphere...
Welcome from the Hawkesbury NSW.@OzPiper , Thanks OzPiper,
Apparently I lived in Sydney when I was 3 years old for just over 2 years but it must have traumatizing because I can't remember a thing.... To this day it still scares me driving through Sydney.
Worked for me ! Although it took some months, rather than 4-5 days.If you want to be free of cigarettes, the trick is to switch completely to a pipe. As I said, after 4-5 days it's plain sailing from there.
At 15yo I somehow convinced my extremely religious parents to allow me to smoke a pipe.Worked for me ! Although it took some months, rather than 4-5 days.
The problem with cigarettes is that they are readily available, easy to carry around, and you can smoke one in a couple of minutes. So a lot of people still turn to cigarettes because of the convenience and you can get your nic fix in a few minutes.
Having given up cigarettes in the '70s, I find that I am now extremely intolerant of the cigarette stench - the stale cigarette smell that lingers on someone's clothes or inside their homes.
Ironical as I love cigars (though not a fan of stale cigar ash) and pipes
