Hello. I started smoking in 2009 while in college, but life circumstances made it a difficult hobby to pursue at the time. I put everything in storage and then in early 2020 that unit got broken into. My tobacco got dumped by thieves thinking untold treasures were secretly hidden in the tins. My pipes survived, and I vowed to not let the thieves win, so I picked the hobby back up with gusto. In about 2.5 years I’ve made it my mission to stock up on all the high rated tobaccos I missed, so basically tons of McClellands with some others thrown in the mix. I’ve got a few hundred tins I’ve amassed and have enjoyed the hunt. I’ve been reluctant to join because everyone here seems to be a “I light it only once, smoke it for three hours, and it turns into vapor by the end because I smoke so perfectly and create no moisture”. I relight, max at about 45 minutes (prefer 30), drool like a dog, and dump the last 10% almost always. But I love the hobby and hope y’all will accept me anyway.

Oh I live in Hercules a little town in the Bay Area, and the tobacco I smoke depends on season and temperature, but I like every style.

Welcome from Wisconsin! (The state)

Many people relight more than they say I'm sure. And that's ok. I don't count how many times per bowl I do.

I like building a lot of cake. I don't like my pipes untill they get dirty all over. And sometimes I'll even go 4 to 5 smokes without a pipe cleaner. I also drool as well. And I do all of that while smoking cheap tobacco in plain, basic, inexpensive pipes.

And the best part of all of this, is I don't care what anyone else says! I smoke in a way that makes me happy. And that's all that matters.

Going to a badger infested wedding later this month (bride is from WI and went to UW). Thanks for sharing your dirty little secret, even I’m not that gross ;), I kid!

Always dump the last half inch, just how i smoke, rarely get it down to ash and I’m ok with that, the only time i finish a bowl in a sitting is if I’m watching a movie or something in my iPad outside Or a work meeting. Different strokes for different folks.
