Thanks for the welcome! That pipe is a Savinelli Clark's Favorite. I got it because I liked the overall shape and the dappling on the acrylic stem.

I haven't opened all the tins or bags in the photo yet, but I've opened and tried the Capstan Blue, OGS, and Presbyterian. I like the Capstan Blue and OGS. The Presbyterian is pretty good too, although I like it a little bit less than the Capstan Blue and OGS. The Bob's Best and Nightcap I didn't quite connect with. And the other ones I haven't opened yet.

What's your favorite pipe and tobacco?
I really like that shape! Great choice.

In my opinion, Early Morning Pipe is far better than Nightcap... but I'm very much a morning person, so maybe that's why!

I'd say my favorite tobacco is good old Half & Half. But for a (slightly) higher end tobacco, my favorite would be Sutliff Sweet Virginia. My favorite pipe is my Brebbia Ninja Sabbiata 8311. I really enjoy the angular shank and stem. I'm not home to take a picture, but it looks like this:

Thanks for the reply! Based on what I've read and heard (from YouTube videos), I think I might also like EMP more than Nightcap.

And that's a handsome pipe! I like the overall shape but especially like the shape and color of the stem, as well as the band.

This meerschaum (pipe #2) and War Horse (soon to RIP, fell for this forum's brilliant marketing strategy of humorously shit-talking it), respectively.

Thanks for the reply and photo! I've been considering getting a meerschaum pipe. Did you buy yours new or was it an estate pipe? It has a nice shape and smooth finish (I'm not a fan of the speckled or textured ones), and a nice warm patina to it.

Also, hadn't heard of War Horse before -- will have to do some research on it, and maybe buy a tin (if it is available)!

New, from Altinok; that's about two years of patina. Got it early in my career cuz I was smoking too hot and too wet, figured something that was fireproof and slightly absorbent would be a good idea.
The silver band was added later - when I cracked the stem and sent it for repairs, I had Briarville stick a band on it as extra reinforcement.

War Horse... It's dark, strong, and seasoned with (depending on who you ask) either minion farts or tonquin and valerian. Or maybe it's made out of deadly nightshade and Confederate money.
They aren't making it anymore, but some places haven't sold out yet.

Edit: If you do your research on this forum don't trust anyone who says it's terrible, they're trying to sell it to you.

Welcome from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! I got started with pipes last March, after 6 months of smoking cigars. Now I mostly smoke pipes: to me, pipe tobacco has a wider range and variety of flavor. There's a lot to learn, and this forum is a great place to do it!

You're off to a great start. Orlik Golden Sliced, Plum Pudding, and Capstan Blue are all in my rotation. I'm glad you got to try some HH while it's still around, I've never had it and I'm hoping to score some soon
