It might come as a shock to some but almost nothing objective has ever been established by tobacco reviews.
Preferences and style will vary dramatically, it's just as subjective as food reviews, what people say they want to eat is almost entirely dependent on what they've already been eating for the last year.
A good strategy would be to buy some samples of straight Burly, Turkish, and Virginia, smoke each one on different days and try to identify which offends you most (those three are the most common components in cigarettes). Once you know which to avoid it's easy to filter out blends by their component tobacco types.
In fairness, it was one remark in the context of a generally helpful post (and at least one more of a helpful nature) and you got your shots in and seem to want to continue with the "drama" (I'd say it's .005/10 on an internet drama scale) for some reason.
Now it's your preferences, you don't have visitors and don't care what they think (but they were the measuring stick before). Again, I'd suggest being a little more clear in the original post so folks have a bit of a roadmap, otherwise no reason to get fussy if they go to Anchorage when you thought they should be going to Amarillo. And around here, folks may just go wherever the heck they want, no big deal.
I don't want a house and everything in it that smells like leftover smoke, just don't. Happy to enjoy my pipe outdoors and in my garage, occasionally in a vehicle and no judgments on what anyone else wants to do.
You said you enjoy Latakia/English aromas - you have your answer. Nobody else has your nostrils, or your house (maybe it already has some old grandma's oats in the cupboard on the porch smell the tobacco is blending with or the wafting agony of potpourri or six cats) --- lots of variables. Your place is going to take on a general permanent odor and you probably won't know the difference at some point, but if you like the Latakia/English fire some up and influence it in that direction. The occasional other blend you enjoy won't make any difference in the grand scheme of things.
Nothing in my post warranted his answer of insulting me and I ignored him just after his second reply proved to be just as rude as the one before it, so I am not continuing anything here, but I get it that on niche forums like this people tend to form their own cliques so it would make sense for you to defend his behaviour. I stated that I misunderstood. Of course after I posted this, he hit me with the angry emoji, so I lost interest in apologizing further.
But, isn't it odd to come onto a smoking forum stating that tobacco smells like ass? My response was honest, maybe not tactful. But, I am still sorry for telling the truth. He still hasn't said what tobaccos he thinks smells like ass. So, maybe he came on here with a block on his shoulder... I don't know. But, we could have worked this out more amiably if he hadn't of dissed my apology like he did.

Because her dad and his dad were big on Latakia, that is about the only “room note” my wife thinks smells like a pipe should.
You know you are smoking tobacco. Sooner or later, someone will say you smell like an ass. To prevent that, I suggest smoking cotton candies and rainbows.
@El Capitán I was literally going to say the same thing. Sweet Killarney smells and tastes like caramel to me. I gave some to a young co-worker to try and he said it was a bit sweet for his liking. But, I think it tastes excatly as it smells.

Agreed, Ennerdale avoids the room note controversy entirely.
(Though maybe just burn some on a frying pan before trying to smoke it in your favorite pipe.)
A - Depends entirely on whose ass.
B - I wouldn't have counted the way he said ass firing shots. He created the thread to ask for replies, then reacted by thanking many users for their suggestions, which implies it wasn't to troll. Had he materialized on somebody else's post accusing them of ass toking, however, that might'a been different.
