Not great but a current sample form my Pentax k-5. Exposed with a 28mm 3.5 SMC and a set of Pentax extension tubes. Lighting from underneath with an old Vivitar 285 HV set to 1/2 power.

I really enjoy photos from space... but, I was thinking this thread could use a shift in genre.

I don't know if these are "great" photos but they are some of my favorites.

Some for visual content, some for historical value, some for their glimpse factor (as ... into their lives), and some for their "that's just cool" aspect.

"Old Oak Tree"
I'm always out and about on two wheels and carry a small camera with me. My wife got me into photography. Pictures I post here were taken by me. I'll put up some of my wife's stuff too and credit her -she's way better than I. The oak tree I shot a couple weeks ago on a bicycle ride.

Paul,
Great Pic! I am very devoted to Astonomy. Below is a pic of my telescope.

I also published a book (1992) entitled Best Deep Sky Objects for the LX-200 and I sold it through adds in Astronomy Magazine and Sky & Telescope Magazine.

The view south from Brownsville, PA looking down the Monongahela River. (West Brownsville on the right)

Spent many a summer in these parts. God's Country...

My wife's hometown, San Giorgio Lucano, Province of Matera, Italy.

Public water fountain installed by the Fascists in the early 1930's.

I think this is one of the nicest pics I ever took.
