In my experience if a tobacco as a little too much moisture adjusting my cadence usually fixes the problem. I give cadence lessons every other Tuesday at 7 pm Est.I can still taste a difference if it’s too wet

The Faroe Islands. We're way up north, but the Gulf Stream carries warm seas up to fight the arctic winds and the weather goes crazy.workman, I forget where you live please refresh my memory.

I'm in the foothills of the Bradshaw above you and I find the low humidity here is good for Tobacco and pipe "resting". When I lived back east humidity was a problem with wetter smokes and the length of time that I thought I needed to let a pipe dry out. This happens to me somewhat often, most often with VA based blends, and it's pretty frustrating. I chalk it up to conditions, dry time, and what I had to eat/drink that day. A few days ago I had the exact same experience with SJF. First bowl was FANTASTIC, but the next day I loaded up a pipe with a second bowl from the same batch of dried tobacco, but smoked it after a nap when I'd allowed myself to dry out a bit (here in AZ you've gotta have a glass of water before a nap to avoid waking up thirsty), and didn't taste a thing except for harshness.
