Going to Vietnam, Suggestions?

I have a suggestion, stay home!

I Googled and many appeared on the city map, all over the city. Hover over the business with your mouse and on some you'll see pipes displayed. Then click and open the website. Might be the most up to date available. Lots of vape shops though.

When I was there the smoke was accompanied by pyrotechnics, loud explosions and such. I was usually confined to the aircraft parking area, cowering under the Herky bird. I hated an RON mission.

Really dumb, right? Using the main target for cover. Somebody had to supervise and do the weight and balance.

I got to see a herkey bird get a Purple Heart one time. Great aircraft and crews.

I second this recommendation. It’s a lovely smoke, even if you don’t inhale it and treat it more like a cigar. If I went back to Vietnam that’s what I would be bringing home.

I've been to Vietnam many times. I normally do not stay long in Saigon. I also don't bring my pipes/tobacco when I travel there, so I am not much help here. Apologies.

I appreciate you chiming in anyway. If you don't mind me asking, any specific reason for not bringing pipes/tobacco to Vietnam? If you'd rather not say, no worries.

I love pipes/tobacco, but I'm essentially a weekend warrior. I don't generally take a pipe with me when I am traveling abroad (and I've been to 60 countries so far). When traveling within the USA, I do bring pipes/tobacco with me.

I often don't take pipes or tobacco either. I rarely get to smoke anymore and I'm fairly conscious of the local culture around tobacco. I've only visited 45 or so counties but I think I understand.

Vietnamese here.
Much more than your expectation, shops here sell huge amounts of unsmoked/estate pipes, tobaccos, lighters, etc,. I also have a friend who makes freehand pipes!

FWIW I always take my pipe and tobacco and have never had any issues with locals or their culture. And that includes all of Southeast Asia.

Keep your head down and change your socks frequently!
