I cleaned put my closet to get rid of the clothes I couldn't wear. Had about 50 shirts and 4 pants I could not wear. I'll be having a yard sale during the summer and donating what I have left over. What do you all do with your old clothes? Do you donate or just toss?

I donate all my old clothes or sell the more desirable ones on eBay.

Mostly donate. Unless worn until threadbare, then I either use it for a garage rag or throw it away.

I have to special order my cloths because no one locally carries clothes that fit. Once I'm done with them from wear, they go in the trash.

I have donated heavy work wear that was lightly used, thermal bib-alls and jackets. I usually wear my clothes more or less to tatters and replace. I don't "dress" often for outings so most of my wardrobe is wash and wear.

I take my mens clothes to local halfway houses or other "men's rehabilitation" places that will give them to those in need for free. My wife takes hers to women's hallways houses and battered women's shelters. Lots of people show up to these places with nothing.
Just not Goodwill. There is zero good in their will. It's a genius business model meant to to profit off of the good will of others. Salvation Army may be a better option.

Wife goes to a local junk store, a sell all type of store, he really gives her good deals, so when she cleaned out my closet, had some clothes with still the tags on I told her give them to your friend and let him make a little money. Don’t need much clothes to smoke on the porch!

I’m about to embark on this very same process. All of it goes to the weekly house cleaner. She sends It to family members who can use it.

Makes me tired just thinking about those. I got a scholarship to Notre Dame but was second string. I didn't get much play time during the 08-12 seasons. Still got a degree though.

Worked on the farm, 52 inch chest, 32 inch waist, thighs that wouldn’t fit in Levi’s, Lee jeans was the answer, threw bales of hay running along flatbed truck, had strength of 2 men, people thought I was a weight lifter. It’s remarkable how in old age I’ve gone down, it’s really pityfull, but it is was it is. I Garronte!

I typically wear clothes until, as Jerry Seinfeld would say, every clothing molecule is so absolutely strained that it barely retains the properties of a solid. Those garments usually become rags, or designated for dirty jobs around the house. Anything that I no longer have a use for but someone else might...that gets donated. Most of this donating occurred after I moved out of the city, and naturally, my wardrobe changed a bit. If it's something particularly snazzy (which is rare), I will give it to a friend who runs a vintage clothing shop. This one paid off in a most unexpected way--look what she gave me in trade a year or so ago, dropped off in a donation to her shop:

I wear heavy wool tweeds in NYC. Some are inherited that I had re-tailored to fit me and some have been made by my tailor in London. Anything else gets worn until destruction and then tossed.

Other direction. I've never weighed more than 114 pounds. And I have to constantly eat to stay there.

Surprisingly enough, all of my pipes will go in standard shirt pockets excluding my big meerschaum skull and mountain lion.
