The Lakeland aromatics have never sounded appealing to me, and they cause notorious ghosts. Some love the stuff. Soapy floral sounds cloying to me. If I pay attention to the non-tobacco flavoring, that's a blend I don't want to smoke. A little whiskey, rum, or fruit flavor that stays in the background and brings up the tobacco, yes, but not anything that takes center stage.

When I started smoking a pipe a few years ago, I tried dozens of blends. I found a handfull I really like (primarily straight VA's) and never looked back.

Idong,South Korea.
I find that a new tin of Dunhill Ye Old Signe smokes quite bitter,no matter what size pipe I am using,or what I have been eating for dinner,or how slow I puff.SO........

I gave it the old reliable vacuum storage food bag treatment, rather dump it in the wife’s compost pile. This vacuum technique has worked great for me over the years.

I think that after five plus years it should smooth out and neutralize a bit.

It pays to give a blend a second chance, unless you have some kind of allergic or other overt reaction. When you discover a jarred blend at the back of your cellar after several years, it is usually a whole new experience.
