Okay, I'm lost. Is the riff on the Marine Sgt. Fillmore the original poster's own short-short story (pretty good) or does it have something to do with the G.L.P. blend? A little like Willie Nelson's red haired stranger. My own pain and stubbornness don't make me a god, but I still like the Clint Eastwood heroes and others of that genre, as long as I remember, that's not me, nor actually anyone.

@mso489 the reference to the military guy flew right over my head... but, The Fillmore tobacco is named for the Fillmore area of San Francisco, that includes the world famous Fillmore Auditorium, where some of the most famous 50's and 60's bands got their start. All of the Fog City Selections are named for famous areas of SF.

Whether The Fillmore is named for this military guy... I can't say. Would be interesting to know.

I don't want to speak for the author, but I'm pretty sure it was just a story/analogy that they came up with to compare it with other GLP blends as part of the review

Therefore, if Stratford is the freshly graduated highschool senior going through bootcamp who just got word that tomorrow is the gas chamber experience and (Telegraph) Hill is the more sophisticated Second Lieutenant who passed his exam from West Pointe that decided a mustache was a good look for his newly appointed position, Fillmore is the guy who dropped out of his first semester...

I love Union Square, so I've gotta try this stuff, now. Especially if y'all can't really taste the Latakia.
Union Square is one of my favorites and I don’t care too much for Fillmore. That may not apply at all to you so I’m not trying to discourage you! It’s been a while since I’ve had Fillmore. Maybe it’s time I revisit!

You'd be correct. Often times it gets mundane comparing traditionally. I wanted to spice it up, and for some readers, give them an alternate perspective on how the characteristics of tobacco can be. I am in no way a military person, but after watching HBO's Band of Brothers 7x and The Pacific 4x, I've wandering in my head a little.

Just a different way to describe tobacco is all. Often tobacco reviews are

It's a fictional story of how people in the same profession, in this case the military have different characteristics and attitudes. Each of the GL Pease Va/Pers is a different person, or persona in the story, and using an analogy of their experiences and quirks to compare the 3 said tobaccos. I was bored.
