I must say I like Gin & Fever Tree Tonic with 4 dashes of Peychaud bitters on a warm evening on my roof in Manhattan. Just add a couple of cubes of ice, take a sip and fire up the pipe and I think I have arrived in heaven!

Gin is my spirit of choice. Love a nice Gin&Tonic in the Summer. I generally use Beefeater. A lime wedge and , of course, tonic.
I also love a good Gin Martini. I generally prefer a Vesper (ala James Bond Casino Royale) 3 parts Gin (Plymouth or Beefeater) one part Smirnoff Vodka, one have part Vermouth and two jalapeno stuffed olives. I don't care for Bleu Cheese.

For me it's always Bombay Sapphire on the rocks with nothing but a twist of fresh lime.
Now and then, to mix it up some, I'll add a splash of Squirt or Fresca.

I usually use Bombay Sapphire as well, but Seagram's Distiller's Reserve is my second choice. I mix them heavy on the lime and gin though.

Can't keep a good thread down, eh?
Myself, I prefer a well-limed G&T made with Tank and Schweppes tonic.
If you can find it outside the Republic and the UK, Cork Dry Gin makes a refreshing change of pace. Despite the name it is very fruity.
I thank other posters who have pointed out that inferior quinine should not be used, and I will follow up on their suggested brands.

Never caught on to G&T's. Jack & ginger for me or Gentleman Jack neat. Gotta love the sundowner. Happy sippin' & puffin',

I remember this thread from when it was first started because I went out and purchased a bottle of Hendrick's right away. I love a good gin and having a Scottish heritage, well it seemed like I should at least give it a whirl. Best decision (speaking of course, only in terms of gin purchases) I have ever made!

@ homeatsea: Bruichladdich now makes gin as well. They call it "The Botanist":

Makes a sick gin and tonic and a mind bending martini.

Bryanf it's rather funny but when I visit chums of mine in the UK they always ask me to bring back Boodles Gin from NY! I always thought that was Churchill's favorite gin and is one of my preferred over proofed gins. I suppose the Brits export the stuff here as there is no demand for it in the UK - leaves more for us as nothing fills me with more horror than Sainsbury's Dry London Gin!

Hey, we may have Boodles, but you've got Condor. I'd trade with you any day!

Indeed I do! Sometimes I feel like a drug dealer when people ring me up and ask if they can score some Condor from me! Actually because I and my wife travel overseas frequently I am able keep myself pretty well supplied so I always have ten odd pouches about the house at any one time. I will be passing through Ireland at the end of this month so I will see if can grab some Condor plug. I have been smoking Condor and black twist for 30 years and thats all that floats my boat. Have a good evening as we about to get another load of snow here in NYC!

If condor were easily available, it is all I would smoke. An Uncle from England got me hooked and I would pay horrendous shipping charges to get it. Out of principle, I decided to stop and only get it when I'm in Europe. Fortunately, that is at least once a year. Going back in May and have some coming in April.

I know what you mean chum. When I first came here I foolishly assumed that Condor would be available here in NYC. I mean it is the worlds greatest pipe tobacco so why would it not be available here. How wrong I was on that point. After four weeks I had exhausted my Duty Free supply and after extensive inquiry I was informed it had not been sold states side since the 1960s and this was before the age of the internet. The reason for that I have never been able to understand but the same applies to Golden Virginia as well so I am sure buried in the dusts of history there is a good reason. I remember three weeks of misery smoking OTC mixtures before my next UK trip. The only thing that saved me was the Condor ghost in all of my pipes!
