I don't get that panic buying at all, as I said in another post, I look at the numbers. The numbers say that isolation works in preventing the spread, and that food and other stocks aren't depleting, production and distribution aren't slowing down. The numbers also say that a total meltdown of all work and services won't happen, and hasn't happened in the worst hit places.
Personal experience: I shopped on Monday evening in Athens, Greece, some products were missing as the crazies had already been there in morning, I went again today for my family's weekly shopping and the supermarket was fully stocked with everything.
