You're not the only one. I went to my local Virginia ABC store just to get another bottle of my favorite bourbon (Belmont's Kopper Kettle) and overheard the store manager talking about Virginia ABC stores mandatory closing to his coworker. I only had about half of this yesterday morning. Given my "normal" consumption of one or two drinks a week, this would last me about 20 years.

The most pleasant surprise was Ford's Gin. It's REALLY good, and I'm not a routine Gin drinker. Lots of fleeting flavors and very smooth. It does smell rather like expensive aftershave.
I must be a professional drinker that would only last me about a month. I usually drink a1.75 in 2 or 3 days

Slightly off the topic of panic buying alcohol.
People are getting desperate. I went to a small store yesterday to pick up a few items I knew they had in stock. As I was getting there, a woman came out with three shopping bags and stopped at the free newspaper stand. She cleaned it out and then took every free magazine in the rack.

My first thought was, "Some plumber is going to make a lot of money off people like her."

The governor announced mandatory "Non-Essential Businesses" shut downs today. Apparently he doesn't think GameStop and drive thru strip clubs are essential. << Snipped bits out >>

Now, THAT got my attention. I guess no lap dances, then?

Vegas must be a ghost town by now. Is it?

I don't get that panic buying at all, as I said in another post, I look at the numbers. The numbers say that isolation works in preventing the spread, and that food and other stocks aren't depleting, production and distribution aren't slowing down. The numbers also say that a total meltdown of all work and services won't happen, and hasn't happened in the worst hit places.

Personal experience: I shopped on Monday evening in Athens, Greece, some products were missing as the crazies had already been there in morning, I went again today for my family's weekly shopping and the supermarket was fully stocked with everything.

It really wasn't panic buying. I wanted to get some reasonable Champagnes to help keep my wife out of my pricey Cognacs and Bourbons. The stuff they carry at the grocery stores is not very good.

I was refering to panic buying in general.
My panic buy was my estervals order, should have gone in earlier though, now I am wondering if it will force age in some cargo warehouse.
