Just finished this one. Has a zebra wood decorative ring and a ebony wood bit.

It's been a long time my friend. Looks good! Love the idea of the wood bit. But not so sure about it being so dark. Still like though. Keep em coming.

The bit is ebony wood, and is not dyed. Ebonite plastic was made as a synthetic version of ebony. Prior to ebonite, ebony was used for musical instruments etc.

It appears to be smaller than many Canadians in a good way, compact but not puny. The medley of woods is terrific -- thoughtful and superbly done. Bravo.

@ shikano53, the "staining" is actually not staining lol. Its a chemicle stain. Briar is low in tanins so you use a wine making liquid tanin. Then you use vinegar that has steel wool sitting in it. Gives a nice contrast and is darker than in the picture. I need to use my nice camera and lenses to capture a more accurate picture. But taking a nice pic is not easy with a real camera.
