The season just started here and we cooked some last night.
Fresh from a farm stand---a few ears of yellow and a few ears of white,
just to see which was going to be sweeter this year.
Yellow won!
It was delicious.
I can't wait for the Watermelon.

Sadly, most corn is GMO, and ergo, off limits for me. My head would swell up and look like an upside-down bowl of a Devil Anse if I had a go of it.

I'd love to see some cobs made from all that detritus @tbradsim1 ! Of course, the thread would have to get relocated to the Pipe Talk section at that point.

Yes, watermelon, that's just around the corner too. Our horse loves the rinds!

I grew up in farm country and miss the sweet corn unattended by the roadside, on a picnic table with a hand painted sign, and a coffee can to put the money in.
We still have a few "honor system" stands around here. The only difference is instead of a coffee can, it's usually a metal lockbox bolted down to a table or farmers wagon.

NJ and MD have the best corn!

I have to limit myself to 3 ears at a time or it causes me intestinal distress.

It was drilled into my head by my dear maternal Grandmother that small kernels are the best but I actually prefer medium starchy ones.

Silver Queen, is my favorite.

I never eat corn in a public setting as I find watching people I don't know eating corn to be disturbing. Corn on the cob I mean.

edit: I realized after I wrote this that I previously replied with some of the same sentiments. At least I'm consistent!

You could grow your own non-GMO corn next years. Maybe I will try my hand at something like this.
