Corallos are very porous, use a toothbrush and water or alcohol (Everclear) to clean the exterior of the pipe. Any type of soap with be absorbed into the Corallo briar and leave a soapy taste when smoked.

Great finds!!!!
Good to know. I’ll try warm water and alcohol first. Spit and papertowel for the rim char, per Cap‘n Embers.

I got them to enjoy trying to bring them back to life. i have t practice being patient. Don’t try to do all processes on all pipes at one time. Take time and let it unfold. I hope I can be that patient.
learning to take time is a very important part of life. It's one of the reasons pipes are so great. You don't just stuff it with tobacco you take the time it needs to get it right. You don't try to puff all the smoke out you gently coax it out. And you'll have these pipe for the rest of your life you don't need them cleaned right away. :) And yeah I think now I need to find an antique store and find some old pipes.
