I know this will probably bring a little ridicule my way, but I found a juice that tastes somewhat like tobacco, and by that I mean more like tobacco smells. I have been mixing a little prune juice in my diet cokes for years as it adds a nice flavor kinda like Dr. Pepper, only richer tasting. I don't use too much as it has a fair amount of sugar and being diabetic I try not to consume too much. A few days ago my blood sugar was low so I just drank some straight prune juice, and wow, I was struck by how much it reminded me of a lot of tobaccos I smoke, not only the taste when smoking but the tin note. We're always hearing about a tobaccos tin note as plumy or figgy, maybe even raisins, but never prunes! Prunes seem to have been given a bad rap as being for old people who are constipated or need fiber. I like the flavor of prunes, and more so, prune juice!
So give it a try, even if you're not constipated, lol, and see what you think. You can mix other things with it like coke, other fruit juices, or hey, just substitute it for orange juice when making your next vodka screwdriver and make yourself a piledriver!

Glad you discovered something original, as for me I don't care for either prune juice or Dr. Pepper, but you go ahead and enjoy

I always thought Laphroaig tasted a lot like latakia. Would never have known that prune juice tasted like tobacco. Maybe that's the source of its efficacy.

I was thinking more along the lines of Peterson's 3P or PS Luxury Navy Flake, something like that. Not necessarily aros, but more in the vaper category.

I agree that a lot of Islay Scotchs have that smokey taste like latakia, or even lapsang souchong tea.
Probably not a lot of love found for prunes, but plums and plummy sound better I guess, although plums are more sour and acidic compared to prunes.
weezell, sounds like a winner!

Does prune juice taste anything like ... Royal Yacht? Just asking.
Yes, fruit juice in general is loaded with sugar -- high fructose corn syrup often added on top of the sugar in the fruit itself. Usually better to eat the fruit itself.

mso, prune juice doesn't need any added sugar, it's 100% prune juice and plenty sweet. Oh, and yes I find it does taste a little like Royal Yacht, whether you feel that is a good thing or not.

But lets face it, no one is going out to buy prune juice to see what it's like, because they're probably embarrassed to be seen buying it. Similar to buying tampons for your wife, or Preparation H, I guess. Believe me, everyone I tell that I like prune juice they look at me like I've just misspoken, or am crazy, which I probably am.
coyote, for some reason it doesn't give me the squirts, but then I only drink it occasionally in small amounts.

I occasionally squeeze a little lime juice into my coke; it seems to bring it to life.

Gotta love that Laphroaig!

Funny you ask ... though most folk describe the fruit note in Royal Yacht as "plummy," my limbic brain is immediately reminded of prunes when I smoke it.
Lane's BCA always brought prunes or prune-juiciness to mind to me, and its Captain Black analog (CB Dark, which I like quite a bit) seems even more prune-like. I even get a hint of pruniness from well-aged Dunhill My Mixture 965.
Anywho, I get what the OP is saying.
"A warrior's drink!"

I know it was already said, but every time I drink Laphroiag, I think it's like "drinking a pipe." Lol

If you want a drink that tastes like tobacco, try some Lapsang Souchong tea. This is a black tea that has been dried and cured over smoky fires. Lapsang Souchong tea should probably become the official drink of pipe smokers.
If one were to mix a cheap whisky with this tea, and then filter it through a coffee filter, you'd have your own homemade Laphroiag Scotch.

It's the Latakia of teas, then!!
I am putting it on the list as soon as I get home. I love black teas, but without that sissy fragrance that many Earl Grays have.

Roasted barely tea is makes a lightly smokey iced tea. When I first tried it I thought it tasted like a Newcastle brown ale with a hint of smoke.
