I was very happy to see a few inches this morning........of SNOW......keep your minds out of the gutter you weirdos. :(
I've finally been able to breath for the last 2 weeks. I find anything over 70 degrees unbearable!
The wife and I are headed to Alaska in a week or two. We will spend at least a month there, hopefully longer.

We got several inches Saturday - good news is my largest maple had mostly just dropped its leaves, the rest came down during and after the snow. Once it warms up later this week those leaves will be much more manageable. Burned some wood last night!

For the life of me, when I first saw the title to this I thought it said snowball. I was like, Cool! He is having a snowball fight with his nephews or something. lol

A Google search has given me a detailed knowledge of Lake Effect Snow, oh my word that's crazy stuff when it happens.
Where I live near the Eastern shore of lake Erie, we have some of the worst lake effect snows in the country. Its not unusual for 2-4 feet to fall overnight. Sometimes I need to plow our driveway 2-3 times a day.
Its also common to get "snowed in" our house. I have to go out our sliding door, and shovel the snow away from the other doors to get out.

I watch videos of this sort of snow falling and it’s difficult to comprehend. I have to ask……..why do so many people live in these areas?

That’s the same question I ask about flood-prone areas like New Orleans, or hot and sticky areas like New Orleans, or mosquito-and-alligator-infested areas like Florida (and New Orleans).

It's 30 degrees in Southern Louisiana this AM, but no snow is expected. But everyone will be dressing like its a blizzard. I guess that I'll have to wear long pants for a few days.
You haven't been down there for too long, have you? Give it a few more years, you'll see how your tolerance for cold is diminishing. :)
