I watch videos of this sort of snow falling and it’s difficult to comprehend. I have to ask……..why do so many people live in these areas?
Because when its snowing and cold, it cleans the air and earth.
The seasons, the mountains and hills, the trees and meadows.
Or, because its beautiful.
Or, because we are crazy.
But most people live here because they were born here. :)
You get used to the cold.
My wifes aunt grew up here, but moved to Phoenix AZ for 25 years.
She met her husband there.
About 5 years ago they moved back here. She missed the area and the seasons. Her husband lived in the SW his entire life. He was 57 years old when he moved here, and he loves it.

That’s the same question I ask about flood-prone areas like New Orleans, or hot and sticky areas like New Orleans, or mosquito-and-alligator-infested areas like Florida (and New Orleans).
And the tornados, the hurricanes, the venomous snakes and spiders, the hanging stench that cities get when they never freeze.
Every year in snow areas the earth gets a chance to breath. The cold kills a lot of bacteria, and cleanses everything.
Even NYC and Chicago smell fresh after a good freeze.
New Orleans and Miami cant say that.

Weird bro cuz i just got back from visiting friends in miami and south fl and there wasnt a stench of death and bloated aligator corpses. just big booty latinas and some good food.
Not death or bloated alligator corpses. Hot, humid cities just have a smell. Most parts of NO smell like garbage and human waste.
Miami has the same smells in areas, but also dead fish.
I live near a lake. By the end of Summer it has a dead fish, dirty water stench. Every Spring for about 2 months the lake breeze smells great.
NYC in late Summer smells like garbage and piss. That all disappears when it freezes. Spring in NYC smells like flowers and trees blooming. By August, the garbage and piss is back.
Months of snow and freeze refreshes...even big cities.
In my opinion.
Freezing temperatures also kill off pests, larva, bacteria, and invasive plants and animals.
They come back in Summer, but never really get a chance to settle in.

You haven't been down there for too long, have you? Give it a few more years, you'll see how your tolerance for cold is diminishing. :)
Oh yeah, my buddy in Florida says the year round warm weather makes you a pu$$y....he's right! I'm working up in PA this week, its actually slightly warmer up here.
