Is he using butchers block or a similar product? He wipes it down after each smoke with a soft cloth impregnated with a small amount of (chopping) board oil which has given the pipe a nice soft sheen.
Yes, I can't remember the brand but it is a food safe product. He figured if it works on a heavily used board, it would be safe to use externally on a pipe. And probably a lot cheaper than Halcyon or Paragon. There are quite a few online recipes to make your own.Is he using butchers block or a similar product?
How many bowls to reach this?I like unfinished briar pipes. My Series III is coloring nicely. No oils or waxes, just a quick buff with micro mesh pads prior to smoking it the first time. I would definitely get another naked briar. View attachment 83561
I would say about 60. This is my Eso English blend pipe. As far as the sanding goes, I started with 4000 grit and went up to 12000. Brought out the grain and put somewhat of a shine to it.How many bowls to reach this?
I don't usually care for danish shapes but that is a handsome pipe.
