Indeed it has.Seems like it's steadily gotten worse the last couple years, though.

The majority of their customers aren't the smoke one tin of a blend per year variety. Most of their special releases are gone within the first hour. The best way to keep a blend like that available is to keep it as quiet on forums as possible. More non members read these pages than members. How can a company, knowing that a special release is anticipated, not limit customers to 2 or 3 tins max? SP MAJORLY dropped the ball on this one!
Maybe because…How can a company, knowing that a special release is anticipated, not limit customers to 2 or 3 tins max? SP MAJORLY dropped the ball on this one!
It will be listed on tinbids in a week.............. I don't know what price, but look at all the 2024 Cringle Flake on there.......I'm kinda curious to see if any will pop up on the resale market, and for how much. It was similarly happening with Analogue's releases. They would have a new drop, sell out quickly, then you'd go on eBay to find numerous listings asking twice the price.
I agree. It would give more folks a chance to try it. I also missed out.How can a company, knowing that a special release is anticipated, not limit customers to 2 or 3 tins max? SP MAJORLY dropped the ball on this one!
See, what Cringle release was it, last year, or perhaps '22, there were still tins sitting at online retailers for quite a time after it released. This year it was gobbled straight up and now on the secondary market. It will be listed on tinbids in a week.............. Have you not tried Steamworks?... no tobacco is worth waiting around that long for.
I would also hazard a guess that some of these scalpers probably don't even smoke a pipe.See, what Cringle release was it, last year, or perhaps '22, there were still tins sitting at online retailers for quite a time after it released. probably true.............. we're in the "GiG" society/workforce now........... people will make a buck where they can. I don't like it, but I can respect it......I would also hazard a guess that some of these scalpers probably don't even smoke a pipe.
Limiting it to 2 or 3 tins, they will sell it all and more people will get the chance to try it. I have no problem with them making money. My guess is, though, their largest customers are resellers trying to flip it.Maybe because…
- They don’t want to piss off their largest customers
- They make more $ per tin on multi-tin sales
- They want to sell it all
Yeah, didn't care for that one and I love orientals.Have you not tried Steamworks?
I’m with you. It isn’t as if you are going to discover your new go-to tobacco in a limited release blend.Yeah........ I "tapped out" a few years ago on these special releases. The hype is what drives them, and I don't blame the blenders- It's hard to make a go of tobacco sales any day, but when they can issue one of these, hype it up, and sellout in a few hours............... well, that's just money in the bank.
I don't blame them, I just don't "play" anymore................
Same hereI was interested in picking some up but there’s no way I was waiting 45 minutes.
I checked back a few times over a couple of hours, but I wasn’t going to work a refresh button like an idiot pulling on a slot machine as if it were a pump handle. I’d have really felt like a schmuck then.I was interested in picking some up but there’s no way I was waiting 45 minutes.
