Yeah, I tried to sell the wife on one but she didn’t want to set a “smoking in the house is ok because of the fan” precedent.

Yes. We're very happy. It's been a long road to get to a spot where we could afford to purchase land, build our dream home & finally settle down somewhere.
Now if we could ust get the darned thing finished. (We're currently nine weeks behind schedule & living on site in our travel trailer)
But seriously, after 20 years, what's another 9 weeks?

One thing about housebuilding is the contractor is always late. You call them on it and they will look you right in the eye and say "Hey, haven't you ever been lied to before?"
We were supposed to move in june 15. Moved in sep 30. Thats just part of building a house. The estimate is always based on everything happening as it should, which it never does. Just too many variables, contractors, etc. to expect them all to pan out. Especially now with all the supply chain issues we’ve had during the pandemic. Our cabinets went from 2-4 weeks to 4 months.

Haha yeah, that will be an adventure. They are long life LEDs so hopefully that won't be a for a long time, hahaha.
Ha ha, my wife chose sconces too when we added on to the house. Then, I had to buy a 12 foot ladder to change the bulbs, and now we don't have anywhere to store a 12 foot ladder, so it just sets along the back fence, ha ha. It was like we solved some problems only to create more problems for ourselves.
I think you just summed up 21st century life in one sentence.
