Correction: Talk Like A Pirate Day is 19th September.
The backstory to that on the Intarwebs is wholly false - the reason for talking like a pirate is that, as piracy declined in the 19th century, global warming began to increase. Therefore, the 9/19 "Yarrr me hearties" is practiced entirely to combat climate change.
