@Roach1 next time try the White Elephant Meerschaum filters.


I’m seeing two different things going on when using a Meerschaum filter.

It’s not removing flavors, it’s making the blend more delicate/light. So I can see how this is perceived as some sort of muting.

But, I’ve also noticed without a filter, that the tar and nicotine, that a filter reduces, these things also stand in the way of flavors too.

I find that flavors can be more distinguished with a filter, because I see nicotine and the tar can also alter/mute flavors.

I‘m really enjoying using the White Elephant Meerschaum filters, I find it creates a more refined elegant smoke, but you have to sip and smoke even slower to appreciate it, especially in good complex blends.
