Where?Ok, I promised myself last one for a while, but couldn't pass up another 50% off deal.... There's one more Ferndown Reo left at the pipe shop (pictured at bottom of the group), so someone buy it before I have to...?
Yes, due to the fact that he was a reputable silversmith, I am surprised that the two Ferndowns pictured here do not have silver bands. I rather do like sterling silver bands on pipes, but I suppose it is good to have a variety. If I recall, Les Wood was a silversmith with Dunhill where he picked up carving skills as well, before he went into business for himself. I have a smooth bent billiard by him that is an admirable pipe. He's in the grand old tradition of British wood.
Same. Doubtless he produced high quality craftsmanship but something about the shaping is just a bit off.I just never could get into Les Wood's work.
I agree, but he nailed the Bulldog/Rhodesian shape in my opinion.........Same. Doubtless he produced high quality craftsmanship but something about the shaping is just a bit off.
Can't comment on that one as that's the only shape I can't bring myself to buy.I agree, but he nailed the Bulldog/Rhodesian shape in my opinion.........
