Truth! I have to play this. Thanks for listing. What a line up. Nicky Hopkins the great!
Back in 1969, I went to NYC to see what was happening. I was 20 yrs old and I had a friend who had a one room efficiency on the West side of Central Park. I went with him on a walk one Saturday into the park and we encountered a band setting its equipment up at the bottom of a natural amphitheater there. Curious, and fortified with some Southern Comfort and a couple of doobies, we took a seat on the grass to see what would happen.
At first I thought; " who are these fruity looking prancers on stage?" Then the music began and I was transported to rock 'n roll heaven as all the members of Jeff Beck's troupe launched into the songs on Truth.
They were all there. Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, Nicky Hopkins, Ron Wood and more.
In the years since, I think maybe my favorite of the album is, Old Man River. The rendition is amazing and the interplay between Stewart and Beck is magical.
