@captainprophesy yeah it truly always works that way! I always look at the amazing pipes at my local tobacconist but then he tells me the price so I have to hand it back to him and go home and buy another no name from amazon or ebay. Maybe one day ill be able to buy a "real" pipe
@gloucesterman you are not the first person who has told me about the heartburn thing.. when I lose a cob in the water I feel that its my offering to davy jones so that I have good luck on the water

My favourite shape is probably the Lumberman, but it's fun just to say Canadian anyway.
I'm also probably going to get a lot of Lovats sooner or later, for some reason it's the only normal (under 7") size pipe that really speaks to me.

Everything else I just want extra long.

...yeah, add to my rambling list Canadians and other associated long-stem shapes. Canadians are the stateliest shape to my eye, when I'm in a stately mood.

I favor the Prince, and Billiards and Pots, straight or bent. Mostly classic shapes, but not long pipes or nosewarmers. I like all kinds of shapes but find freehands the pipe I like the least. Usually just too heavy for me.

After surveying my pipes, I'd say my preference is for billiards and similar shapes. The reality of my collection is all over the place. It even includes some shapes that I don't really like but I like the particular pipe in that shape that I own. Obviously, I'm not much of a pipe collector, more a smoker I guess.

You folks made me order a new pipe! I haven't owned a spigot for a very long time (other one vanished a long time ago), and I am more and more liking rusticated finishes, and I didn't have a bent Rhodesian, so I killed three birds with one keystroke.

Although this has nothing to do with pipe shape, there are lovely "pseudo-spigot" pipes out there that look just as nice if not better and the fit of the tenon into the mortice is more solid. Design Berlin has a number of them.

I like 1/4 bent Brandys a lot. Ironically, I still do not owe one. That's a work in progress.

i really like nice warmers too. I have actually been wanting a poker nose warmer for sometime now but I can't afford anything decent and they seem to all be crazy expensive. I have also been looking at Mr. Brog pipes like the larger lumberjack and the giant.
