Getting a great smoke has been hit or miss lately with English blends, and to a lesser extent with Virginias, but the old codger-style burley blends are always a reliable good smoke.

Lawdawg- yes I smoke CH, LL Readying Rubbed, Sutliffe’s RR match, and other sweet Burley blends for exactly this reason! If my palate is off, or blends start tasting weird, I reach for these. I also reach for these when I get too bogged down in random parts of the hobby and want to remember the simple enjoyment of a good smoke.
So, to my drug store blends:

My go to, and all around favorite, probably my #2 affordable desert island smoke, is PS Cube Cut.
Other blends, in no particular order:

CH, PA, LL ready rubbed, Sutliff match ready rubbed, Granger.
I bought some Half and Half to try this week.

I also bought a sample of Chatham Manor that I’m excited to try.

Looks like I'm gonna have to try some Old Joe Krantz.

Good choice. Old Joe aint no wimp and it's not what I consider an all day (multi-bowl) blend, at least for me. There's a good amount of perique which a person needs to be able to appreciate, but like I said a few posts above, if you put this in a cob with it's wide open draw, just the tiniest of sips deliver a very satisfying smoke. This has been my morning dog walking choice as of late and I especially like the last half of the bowl with coffee when we get home.

Amphora Original, Prince Albert and the much hated Mixture 79.

If St. Bruno and Condor count, I would throw them in there as well.
