I'd like to hear from Jeremy Reeves about his first 3 yrs as head blender. What he's learned, what mistakes he's learned from, and what qualities he strives for in blending.

The Tarler family built this business and I only started smoking their blends about the time that the change over and move was happening.

I know there have been well documented bumps in the road, but I'd love to hear more about them and how they will be anticipated and hurdled, going forward.

+1 for Big 'n Burly

I've started logging this topic as C&D blends I don't like.
So far,
Mountain Camp: Bitey

Constellation: Bitey
I think I see a trend.

Me too. Also some hints about the future.
As far as C&D blends go, I have yet to encounter one that I thought was inept, although not all are to my taste. As a nihilist, I believe in neither objectivity nor subjectivity, but many flavor profiles are not a match for my needs as I understand them now.

I joy Yale Mixture. A light English. Nice to smoke (if allowed) inside to enjoy its aroma. A good one to smoke reading or writing. A good companion.

Big n Burley

Morleys best

These are my favorites..they now have 5 years in the glass and are much smoother, sweeter and refined than when they were younger..
Habana daydream is another that MAY possibly work it's way into fave status..

Bayou nights also is in with an honorable mention..
The only C&D I ever tried that I just didn't like at all was mountain camp..

I did not see anyone mention, Captain Earle's Nightwatch. This is one that I enjoy a lot!
Has anyone tried Nightwatch?

I may talk smack about C&D's Virginias and VaPers, but at Deathmetal's suggestion, I picked up a pound of their Virginia Flakes, and I was impressed. But, I still can't help but wonder whether there is any burley in their, or if they add some air cured Virginias. The strength and something about the feel of the smoke... But, I enjoyed it.

I’ve enjoyed Oak Alley, Sanseprelco (I know I murdered that spelling, sorry) and Bayou Morning.
I could throw some GLP in there but I’ll treat his blends as separate from the C&D line.

Derringer, Pegasus, Opening Night, 5:00 Shadow, in that order. I smoke a bunch of their other blends with some regularity, but those four have been my favs for the last little while. The last one I tried was Dream of Kadath - not my thing, can't take that weird fruity smell, whatever it is.
