C&D's John Marr and Granby Station are good ones for me. John Marr is very Va/Or with some vanilla and perique (a touch of Cavendish carries the vanilla, I believe). Granby Station is mostly Virginia with Cavendish, perique, and an apple brandy style topping. With both of these, I can taste the Virginia and the toppings.

No need, I think the Gawith/Hoggarth blends mentioned sound like they might do the trick. I doubt anything they have with any added flavors will be light enough on the topping to suit me.
I would just be careful with some of the Gawith blends if you mostly smoke Newminster. Most Gawith blends will be much more stout in the nicotine department.

I’ve never tried it because it’s not sold in Italy, but from the description made I would add that Virginia Cream from Pease could be a “solution”. Has anyone smoked it and confirm?
