I was introduced to Jack Howell just 3 months ago or so. I think I have a little Howell PAD setting in.

Howell is the current forum darling,, replacing Alden, I guess.
I hope it’s not a zero sum game. Both are fine pipemakers.
I love some of the shapes to look at. But I’m such a traditional shape guy, it’s hurts my brain, but are they gorgeous.

I got my first Howell in the same timeframe you did @PipeLoverInPA . Although I haven’t matched your level of commitment (yet), I’m seriously impressed with his work.
I became a total junky for Jack's pipes a couple of months ago and now have 10 in my collection. His pipes smoke as good as anything I have ever smoked and collected. The stem work is un real and his blast work is right up there with the best. His prices cannot be beat and he is a pleasure to do business with. The shank dimensions along with his stem work makes the pipe smoke it self. You will never need a pipe cleaner to soak up any moisture while you are smoking because of how dry they smoke.
Do yourself a favor and try one of his pipes. Here are a few pictures of a few of mine.

His bit work is very distinctive in its sharpness. How is the comfort?
Jack's pipes are extremely comfortable and smoke fantastic. It's amazing how lite and functional his pipes are.
Very comfortable. I am a sub sample of one, and I only own one, but it’s a comfortable as other artisan pipes I own.
Jack's pipes smoke fantastic, some of the best stem and drill work out there. It may not seem possible but his pipes smoke better than they look.
Although I’ve stepped away from adding more briar to my stable, it’s not hard to acknowledge the work & craftsmanship that Jack has presented on these pages. Truly beautiful specimens of an artisan.
