His name was CS Lewis. Aldous Huxley died on the same day. There was another famous man who died that day but his name slips my mind.
You mean Samuel Horwitz? 1895-1955.

C. S. Lewis anticipated the anti tobacco movement.Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
WTH really and I thought you'd at least be aware of Huxley. Highly recommend Brave New World the moral of the story is far more applicable to the modern age then that other famous dystopian novel. Seriously he had a much clearer vision of what the future would be like and also how to really control people.Kennedy I knew of, had never heard of Lewis prior to this forum, and just had to look up Huxley. R.I.P. to all.
Nope. I'm more Alighieri, Shakespeare, Milton, Wells, Poe, Lovecraft, Kafka, etc.WTH really and I thought you'd at least be aware of Huxley.
