Sigh... I really wish I could just be happy with the pipes I have...

David Bryant I can see him now with that pipe made me smile. The BBC would probably blur it out now.

I am considering getting 2-4 bowls to screw on the stem so I can simple rest the bowl instead of the whole pipe, on 4noggins.com they have a variety of stems and bowls. The bowls are approx $24.50 each. The stems do disperse heat well but the stem I have doesn't allow a pipe cleaner to be inserted in the stem end so I have to insert from the base when the bowl is unscrewed. I hate the fluid buildup after a full bowl or two half bowls but a pipe cleaner cut to fit the base fixes that.

All this talk of Falcons got me to get them down from my "not currently smoking these pipes" shelf. Ordered two Meer bowls from MeerQueen and they currently just left France. Heck, from Turkey, to Germany and then France, these bowls are better traveled that I am.
@toby - yes a small cut pipe cleaner will help with the moisture. In my experience though, they rarely last long enough for a second bowl.
Dan Tobacco in Germany has a specially designed case for Falcons. It will hold two stems with bowls and has loops for four additional bowls. Kind of pricey but a neat case.

@toby67 I do not use the filters in my falcons and if you are an outside smoker, unscrew the bowl and and few shakes of the stem and all fluid is gone. I never have a problem with my cleaners passing. I use the regular BJ long and I have pipes from the '50s' 60's and a new one. So could it be your cleaners.
Here's some eyecandy I've posted:

Yeah fat fluffy cleaners aren't going to work. I use BJ reg. longs as well with no trouble. Another (faint) possibility is a bit with an out of spec bore or somewhat more likely a bit with some mold flashing or other obstruction in it.

Has anyone else found that with age the round centre tubing moves up and down while cleaning. My falcon is getting on in years so maybe this is why....

I haven't noticed the center tube coming loose. My pipes from the '50s is still nice and tight as well as my new one.

I knew I had seen a similar thread to this one before and here is my post on the subject Falcon Pipes!
I have one somewhere that my Father purchased in about 1973 and I could never get on with it for the life of me. I always associate the pipes with small market towns in Yorkshire with the socks and sandals brigade and the obligatory flat hat. In fact here is a brief but informative film concerning a plane load of potential Falcon pipe smokers………
