Be aware, if you didn't know already. For non-EU (Schengen Zone) residents, starting October 12th, entering the EU will require to agree to the collection of biometric data, including fingerprints and facial scans.
This new automated border management tool (the Entry/Exit System, (EES)) will thus replace the manual passport system. It will be in airports, in train stations, seaports and land borders. It will be applied along with the ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) process which will be mandatory, starting in 2026, also for all non-EU residents to enter the Schengen Zone.
I'm sharing this as, obviously, it is important information for anyone wishing to travel to the EU starting in the near future.
