That is kind of gross, especially the $435 offer for a bag of Penzance. But at least its labeled 'Consignment tin owned by 3rd party seller'. Hats off to PipeStud for not gouging like this.
These prices are insane! What happens when you smoke this stuff? It's almost like you need to be part of a cult to even get this stuff. Incredible.
Got a bag of Margate from my local Tobacconist, The Carmel Pipe Shop, oh about 3 years ago. No I have not tried it yet. Afraid I might become a true believer....
Also, a member by the name of Es0terica posted a drop here on this forum, around 6 am, about PandC.com having them in stock. I called them and managed to score 5 tins. Thanks again.

Judging by the Germain's I have smoked, it's doubtful you'll experience ecstasy and be ruined for all other tobaccos. On the other hand, if a tobacco could be that good, wouldn't you just have to try it, eve once?

The hunt is half the fun. The prices Esoterica fetches on the secondary market is impressive, which drives the buying frenzy when a drop comes. Folks around here are pretty good about letting others know when a retailer has some. The more tuned in you are, the better luck you will have. Otherwise you need a fat wallet I'm afraid.
Is it worth the hype - in truth - for some of the blends I think so - they make some stunning product, and the flavours of the aromatic toppings are pretty unique on some of them. I just paid a good amount for one of my favorites - a tobacco is worth what the consumer is willing to pay!
But there is plenty of good tobacco out there that is more readily available.....

As one pretty new to the pipe party I managed to score two tins. One at a B&M last month and another online I was not looking for them just happened upon them. I got them for retail price. I am scared to try it what if I like it ?

The demand for Esoterica/Germain/McClelland/SG/GH has nothing to do with taste and everything to do with FOMO. People are hoarding Kendal soaps for crying out loud! Yeah, does it bother me to know that someone has 25 tin put back on something they’ve never tasted? ? But, hey they got there first I guess. When I stock up I’ve hopefully sampled and already purchased a bit before I’ve gone all in. And, hell yes hooray for the codgers. I dream of one day settling down with just one blend as my day in, day out.

At this juncture, I'm happy that I don't need to buy any more of it. I have enough of the blends that I like to keep me happy for the foreseeable future. The few purchases I've made in the past couple of years have primarily been for friends who lack the connections I'd made.

I’d love to try some Dunbar, but not about to pay the reseller asking prices when i can get bags and bags of Gawith here for a fourth or even sixth of the price. If I was a lot more well off than I am then maybe.
It's good but there are several other VaPers that I like better. It's got a sourness that I don't particularly go for.
