I have smoked nothing but ennerdale for a few days and i love it but i am really starting to wish for a blend with the same almondy flowery hits, but less of the fruitiness. Still loving it though
Amen brother. Hate hop bombsI think fashion changes. When the plebs get straight tobacco, the fancy blending houses make aros for the enlightened. When the plebs smoke aros, then straight tobacco is the thing.
I’m still waiting for the craft breweries to get the message that the plebs are drinking over-hopped nonsense and so the cool kids would like a nice low-IBU brown ale.
it won’t, that’s the magic of itI'm going to try to let some of that topping air off and try it again, and if that doesn't work, I may just try wrapping it in cheese cloth and running it through the washing machine. Maybe that would bring out some tobacco notes.
I won't give up on it. I'll keep trying till I get some tobacco flavor...
By "no one" you mean everyone who has ever actually smoked Ennerdale and posted about it here and elsewhere? It's only the most Lakeland of Lakelands.I didn't expect an unadulterated Virginia, by any means, but no one mentioned that this is an all out no-holds-barred aromatic. I mean, is there tobacco in this?
Ha ha, it's not like I was blaming anyone.By "no one" you mean everyone who has ever actually smoked Ennerdale and posted about it here and elsewhere? It's only the most Lakeland of Lakelands!
And in other news, it's fun to smoke a pipe!
For an aromatic this is a very positive review, no mention of bitterness or turning sour at the end of the bowl.I read through this thread last week or so, and decided to break down and try this one. So, I ordered a box.

I mean yeh, I get flavors, like smoking a wad of a mix of different flavored chewing and bubble gums all chewed together and stuffed into a pipe. I suffered through the bowl, thinking that maybe like Erinmore, it'll have a nic kick to it, but... I had to immediately smoke another bowl of something else to purge my tastes and get the nic reward. Half way through the bowl, I get this urge to kick off my muddy boots and menstruate.

I'm really glad you like it. So many in this thread do. That is great. For an aromatic this is a very positive review, no mention of bitterness or turning sour at the end of the bowl.
Ennerdale is one of the best Aromatic Blends ever made.

My favorite aromatics still have some tobacco flavor, and aren't flavored as specifically as Jolly Ranchers. C&D and Esoterica aros usually can tick all of my toggles for the best. And, usually GH&co does too. This one just struck me off guard. I was expecting an aromatic along the lines of Glengarry Flake or even their Cherry Cream flake still allows the tobacco to come through.
Yeah, it’s full throttle. Good stuff, though. Kendal Flake might be one to try. Has some of the same notes but not nearly as much as Ennerdale. The sample of Glengarry I tried didn’t have much flavoring at all. Coniston is on the list. Haven’t gotten there yetI'm really glad you like it. So many in this thread do. That is great.

?. I like it......though, this might explain my recent cramping.I read through this thread last week or so, and decided to break down and try this one. So, I ordered a box.

That sounds good. A touch of Lakeland…. That might make something close to Stonehenge. I will definitely try that. Maybe even a Virginia Twist.@cosmicfolklore, I use a bit of ennerdale to flavour homegrown cavendish/stoved virginia before mixing with a bit of dfk
Even just chuck a bit in the bottom of the jar as you heat treat your twists in the slow cooker. That sounds good. A touch of Lakeland…. That might make something close to Stonehenge. I will definitely try that. Maybe even a Virginia Twist.
I could call it Fauxhenge.
that would be because St bruno is not a lakeland and the current version is very toned down on the sauceI tried Ennerdale and a couple other Lakeland blends years ago and didn't care for any of them. I actually couldn't believe what I was tasting. The worst of the bunch was SG Firedance Flake. That one tasted like I puked in my mouth. I am glad so many people love the Lakeland sauce. The only Lakeland I enjoy is St Bruno flake as that has such a small amount in it I can barely discern any Lakeland flavors.
No offence was meant to those who enjoy this blend by the way.
