Yes you and me both! I wouldn't mind a big block of the Ennerdale Plug as well. The Gawith Plugs always taste a little bit nicer more fermented/stronger to me and you have the added bonus that they are not as wet as the flake versions, well that's been my experience anyway.
Hopefully they turn up again one day soon.
Ennerdale is the master race of lakelands. If you don't like it, don't bother with the rest. I am having issues finding it!
It's not that I have a problem with Lakeland it's just that every time I try a unscented vs scented blend I find I mcuh prefer the unscented. Dark Flakes, Brown Flakes, etc. Doesn't matter. I prefer the unscented.
I don't really pick up on any Lakeland essences in Squaddy.. it's more of a soft Balkan. Maybe a hint of baby powder when first opened and some fruity fermentation notes, but once dry it's just top grade VA, Orientals, and Lat. Closest thing to it I've tasted is probably Balkan Sasieni or Dunhill Standard.
If you order from Synjeco, I highly recommend both Greenodd and Holker! The ratios may(or may not) be a bit different than cabbies, but the component tobaccos and preperation are the same. If you like cabbie's, you'll love them.
And if anyone is looking for the most drier sheety, detergentish, church organist's rose petal scented perfume Lakeland out there, I recommend Grasmere Flake! It's my favorite G&H floral so far. RB plug and it's headshop patchouli goodness is my top SG. Ennerdale is great but I found the florality mild in comparison to those two. That said, it could be considered the closest thing to an all day Lakeland.
Ennerdale is what priest use to chase evil spirits out of a house. Then they light it up and enjoy a delightfully weird smoke.
It's not if....it's when and how many poundages to make the shipping worth it!
I tried a tin of Ennerdale back in 2012. I did not care for it at all and just gave the tin away. The guy I gave it to didn't like it either so he gave it away. I have no idea if that tin found its way to someone who enjoyed it. I hope someone got it who liked it.
Unfortunately, I am told that has turned out to be a one timer, at least in the UK market

Grasmere is easily the most in your face WTF thing I have ever smoked. I've never had Ennerdale but can't comprehend how anything could possibly be more "ground zero Lakeland" than Grasmere.
