I was an Anglican priest for 32 years, serving mostly as a school chaplain - a missionary to teenagers!
My dear wife died 12 years ago and I decided to retire early, and leave the Church of England (frustrated by the liberal direction it was taking). I had visited Russia and Greece a number of times, and was drawn to the Orthodox Church. Last year I was ordained by the Greek Archbishop here in England to serve in the church in the town of Margate (about 20 miles from where I live).
I am very happily settled!

Glad that you're here, sir!

I'm a member in the ACC, myself, which as you know bid adieu to the AC in the 70s for just the reasons you mention.

I moved a couple of years ago to a region with no conservative Anglican parish, and keep dithering over the possibility of entering the OC. There's an Antiochian parish very close to me with a truly outstanding priest. I'm not persuaded of all the claims of Orthodoxy, but when I mentioned that to the priest, he told me that being persuaded of those claims would be the wrong reason to enter the OC anyway -- he said that the only good reason to enter is because I want help repenting of my sins.
Boy, that answer keeps running around in my mind...

What a great response from the Antiochian priest!
