The Big Rock Candy Mountains
Sorry for the previous cotton rant lol, I had just drank a bunch of coffee too late in the day.:coffee:
Nah, I had fun nerding out on it. The economy of the 18th and 19th centuries is very interesting. I learned there were such persons as "Tobacco Lords," who were Scottish and to whom George Washington and Thomas Jefferson owed a lot of money. "The Tobacco Lords were a group of Scottish merchants who in the 18th century made enormous fortunes by trading in tobacco which was supported by the slave trade.[1] Many became so wealthy that they adopted the lifestyle of aristocrats, lavishing vast sums on great houses and splendid churches." and I see Malawi leaf also mentioned
I saw that as well. Seems to be a mixture of Zimbabwe, Brazilian and Malawi that changes as need (markets? regulations?) dictates. It would be nice to know if, for example, 2015 Gawith had more Zimbabwe Virginia while 2020 Gawith is predominantly Brazilian, but I understand if information like that isn't easy to obtain or perhaps advantageous to disclose.

Might be the sauce or how it's cured but I tend to like all the blends that mention Malawi, usually a dark smokey burley vibe...

Aren't Bosun Plug and Coinston Plug some kind of "Empire Virginia" blend? A couple of my favorite Gawith blends. Bosun in particular is really delicious - has this depth to both its strength and flavor.
