Sorry for my ignorance, but when is tea time? Reading about the fair on the link posted above and it states that the fair starts at tea time on Friday.
It’s regional but, normally, tea time is around 5 -6 o’clock. It’s a throwback to the old days when dinner would be served at 7 -8 ish so teatime was just that, a time to take tea and maybe have a sandwich or cake to keep you going until dinner.
Afternoon tea was usually served around mid-afternoon.
Where I live, tea time was more of a thing than dinner - dinner was reserved for the posh lot in dinner jackets with cigars and port served afterwards…ah, them were the days.

Tea time in the South of England is always served at 4pm on the dot.Tea, cucumber sandwiches and various fancies are laid out by the butler.
Iam not sure what happens in the northern regions as its a place I never frequent.

When I was an impoverished lad I used to have dinner at 5.00pm.My mother would shout very loudly from the bottom of the stairs, saying ''Your Teas on the table'' which was very confusing.
