Dunhill Shape 87 1919 Value

Does anyone have an idea of what a Dunhill Shape 87 from 1919 might be worth? It has the curved Dunhill over London on one side. On the other it reads Inner Tube Pat (can’t read the next two characters) then March 9 . 15. It has a gold Tiffany & Co 18k band.
The condition is...it looks like it’s been smoked since 1919 but not abused. The only damage I see is a chip around the rim of about 3/8 in.
Any thoughts?

I know, it's a goofy process. Did you use the IMG button above the place where you typed the URL?

You'll have to read the sticky on "Photo Posting", you are only putting the URL location into the insert photo tool, you are missing one step. I removed the photo insert info, and now those are active links, so folks can check out your pictures.

Those picture aren't quite close enough for good scrutiny. A modern android phone takes great close-up shots of nomenclature, but I would say:
- that's an aftermarket band, most folks would assume it was placed on there as a repair, so you would have to have a close look at the shank, to see it it is cracked. The band is covering most of the nomenclature, and the year date. Those issues reduce the value significantly. It would have more value if that was a Dunhill stamped band.
- pipe and stem looks to be in decent shape, restorable and the stem appears original, to my eye.
There are far more knowledgeable Dunhill folks here than I, so I'll look forward to their scrutiny.

I took off the band and got a bit closer. They are in my album. I’ll try to post them directly to this thread once I check out the sticky. Thanks for all the help!!!

Nice, but can't quite make out the date detail. IF that band was just added for a decorative feature, you might have something! Pull the stem and show a close-up of the shank, is it cracked? I can't see any exterior crack, from the photos you've shown.

Well, I agree about 1919. Issues - the damage to the inner rim, and whether the band was a repair or a decoration. The condition of the inside of the bowl always needs to be examined with older pipes. That being said, early pipes can valueable price when properly restored by a professional.
From John Loring, "In 1919 the "DUNHILL" stamping was changed from a straight line to a shallow arch. This is the only time that this stamping was employed. There are two variations of the arched "DUNHILL" stamping. From January 3, 1919 to May 20, 1919 the straight line "LONDON" stamping immediately below the arched "DUNHILL" is within the compass of the arch, while from May 21 to Year’s End it is equal to the compass with the "L" and final "N" of "LONDON" being immediately below the "D" and the final "L" of "DUNHILL". Thus if the "DUNHILL" stamping of the pipe forms a shallow arch you know the pipe was made in 1919."
There is no numeric date code, they didn't start until 1921~22.

I guess I would also say, it's not a very common shape. I just looked through the 1927, '38, and '51 catalogs and didn't find it.
