Yes it is, as manufacruring is a process to produce goods and briar needs to be processed before it reaches the pipe maker. How many pipe makers recieve the whole root? Unless they live locally I would guess none as Mimmo said even a 5 hour drive is enough for it to dry out and crack. So first they dig, hydrate, cut, boil, dry, and then cure it before it even reaches the pipe makers hand.And is digging up root and slicing them into blocks (ebuchons) really considered "manufacturing"?
