Depends on the moisture level. Typically I let it rest on a plate/towel or leather tray for a couple of minutes. Does not take long. 5 min max.

After work, I usually lay a few bowls worth out on paper towels that I fold up and tuck somewhere around the kitchen. I'll have one that evening and the rest for the next day. I'll grab them in the morning and shove them in my pipe case. When it's too dry, I'll try mixing with fresh out of the jar. I don't know if that's necessarily good practice, but I'm rarely home so I can't babysit it.
